Perhaps you’ve had the experience of a client saying they never received your emails…or you have never received theirs. \"inbox<\/a><\/p>\n

Frustrating, isn’t it?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Or you’ve had a client or friend say, “Please ‘whitelist’ my email so you are sure to get it.”\u00a0 …But you don’t know how to ‘whitelist’ (or even know what ‘whitelist’ is).<\/p>\n

To whitelist an email is simply to alert your email system that the particular email isn’t spam or junk. When you ‘whitelist’ an email it ensures that, no matter what, you will receive future emails in your regular inbox (not in your spam or junk folders).
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here’s what to send your clients when your emails aren’t getting to their emails. And if their emails aren’t getting to you, you can do what I’ve written below in order to ‘whitelist’ their emails so they don’t go in your spam or junk folder or worse…disappear!<\/p>\n

I encourage you to simply copy and paste this letter below and simply insert your email address! <\/strong>Please note that everywhere a line appears (______) you should insert your email there before you send to your clients.<\/p>\n

How To \u201cWhitelist\u201d Our Emails So You Receive Our Emails\u00a0 (We Know Your Time is Valuable So Don\u2019t Worry ~ It Only Takes a Minute!)<\/p>\n

Below is information on how to ‘whitelist’ _________ with AOL, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, ThunderBird and Postini.<\/p>\n

Even if your ISP or email program is not listed, with these instructions you should be able to figure out how to ‘whitelist’ our email address at any ISP or with any email program.<\/p>\n

Also, if you find email from ______________ in your spam or junk folder, please take that opportunity to tell your mail program that it is not spam by hitting the \u201cnot spam\u201d, \u201cnot junk\u201d or similar button, as that will train your program to whitelist it.<\/p>\n

AOL<\/strong><\/p>\n

To add _____________ to your AOL address book:\"email\"<\/a><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Open an email from us and then click the \u2018This Is Not Spam\u2019 button<\/li>\n
  2. Click the Mail menu and select Address Book<\/li>\n
  3. Wait for the Address Book window to pop up, then click the \u2018Add\u2019 button<\/li>\n
  4. Wait for the Address Card for New Contact window to load<\/li>\n
  5. Paste _______________ into the \u2018Other E-Mail\u2019 field<\/li>\n
  6. Make our \u201cFrom\u201d address, _______________, the Primary E-Mail address by checking the appropriate box<\/li>\n
  7. Click \u201cSave\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Yahoo!<\/strong><\/p>\n

    To whitelist ________________with Yahoo!, you will need to set up a \u201cfilter\u201d after first taking the following steps:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. If you find email from ___________________ is going to your Yahoo! bulk folder, open it and click \u201cNot Spam\u201d<\/li>\n
    2. Be sure that the address _________________ is not in your \u201cBlocked Addresses\u201d list. If _________________ is on your \u201cBlocked Addresses\u201d list, select it and click \u201cRemove Block\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Now to create the filter:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Open your mail and click on \u201cMail Options\u201d in the upper right hand corner<\/li>\n
      2. Select \u2018Filters\u2019 (in the bottom left corner)<\/li>\n
      3. On the Filters page, click \u201cAdd\u201d<\/li>\n
      4. Select the \u201cFrom header:\u201d rule, and add \u201ccontains\u201d and ____________________ which tells the system to put email with ___________________ in your inbox and not the bulk folder.<\/li>\n
      5. Click the \u201cChoose Folder\u201d pull down menu and select \u2018Inbox\u2019<\/li>\n
      6. Pick the Add Filter button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Hotmail<\/strong><\/p>\n

        To whitelist our address with Hotmail you will need to add ______________________ to your Hotmail Safe List. Here\u2019s how:<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. First, if you find email from us in your Hotmail junk folder, open the email and click \u201cNot Junk\u201d<\/li>\n
        2. Next, check to see if if the email address _________________ is on your Blocked Senders list. If you find _______________ on your Hotmail blocked senders list, select it and click on the \u201cRemove\u201d button.<\/li>\n
        3. Next, open your mailbox and click \u201cOptions\u201d in the upper right hand corner<\/li>\n
        4. At the top of the page, click on the \u201cJunk E-mail Protection\u201d link<\/li>\n
        5. Next, click on \u201cSafe List\u201d, which is down near the bottom<\/li>\n
        6. Copy and paste _____________________ where it says \u201cType an address or domain\u201d<\/li>\n
        7. Click the \u201cAdd\u201d button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Gmail<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          1. First, if you find email from us in your Gmail spam folder, select our email and click the \u201cNot Spam\u201d button<\/li>\n
          2. Next, open an email that you have received from us<\/li>\n
          3. Click on the little down-pointing-triangle-arrow next to \u201cReply\u201d:<\/li>\n
          4. Click \u201cAdd ***INSERT NAME HERE*** to Contacts list\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Microsoft Outlook\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            1. On the Tools menu, click Options<\/li>\n
            2. On the Preferences tab, click Junk E-mail<\/li>\n
            3. On the Safe Senders tab, click Add<\/li>\n
            4. Add ________________ where it says \u201cAdd address\u201d<\/li>\n
            5. Click OK<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Thunderbird<\/strong><\/p>\n

              To whitelist in Thunderbird, you will need to add ___________________to your address book, and then set up your Thunderbird Junk Mail Controls to whitelist your address book.<\/p>\n

                \n
              1. First, if you find email from ___________________ in your Junk folder, right-click on our email and choose \u201cMark as Not Junk\u201d<\/li>\n
              2. Next, click the Address Book button<\/li>\n
              3. Highlight the Personal Address Book<\/li>\n
              4. Click on \u201cNew Card\u201d<\/li>\n
              5. In the \u201cContact\u201d tab of the new card, copy and paste _____________________ to the email dialog box<\/li>\n
              6. Click \u201cOk\u201d<\/li>\n
              7. Next, to whitelist your address book, select \u201cTools > Junk Mail Controls\u201d from the drop down menu<\/li>\n
              8. Update the \u201cWhite Lists\u201d module under the \u201cSettings\u201d tab by selecting \u201cPersonal Address Book\u201d from the drop down menu, and then check the box next to \u201cDo not mark messages as junk mail\u201d<\/li>\n
              9. Click \u201cOk\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Apple Mail for OS X<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  \n
                1. First, if email from ________________________ ends up in your junk folder, highlight or open it and click \u201cNot Junk\u201d at the top of your screen.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  Then:<\/p>\n

                    \n
                  1. Go to Mail > Preferences from your Mail menu<\/li>\n
                  2. Go to the Rules tab<\/li>\n
                  3. Select Add Rule<\/li>\n
                  4. Give this rule a name such as \u201cINSERT NAME HERE\u201d<\/li>\n
                  5. Create a rule that says \u201cIf any of the following conditions are met: \u2018From\u2019 \u2018Contains’\u201d and then paste in \u201c___________________\u201d<\/li>\n
                  6. From the actions, select \u2018Move message\u2019 to mailbox \u2018Inbox\u2019.<\/li>\n
                  7. Click \u201cOK\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Postini\u00a0\"you've<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

                    You do not need to whitelist email from Simply Hired in Postini unless you find it trapped in the \u201cJunk\u201d area by Postini.<\/p>\n

                      \n
                    1. Log into your Postini account<\/li>\n
                    2. Look to see if any email from ______________________ is listed in your Junk area<\/li>\n
                    3. If you find email from ____________________in the Junk area, check the check box next to the email from ________________Click the \u201cDeliver Selected\u201d link at the very top of the Junk screen<\/li>\n
                    4. On the next screen, click the \u201cApprove Sender\u201d check box next to the email from _________________<\/li>\n
                    5. Click the \u201cApprove Selected Senders\u201d button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
